Drip Drip Fills The Bucket

To you, the one that has lost motivation. To you, who has failed a few times at doing the things that inspire you the most. To you, who has been told you would never make it in the field you desire to work in. To you, who has been told you ‘live in the clouds’ or ‘wake up, you’re dreaming.’ This is for you.

Constantly I see the light fade away in the eyes of those becoming demotivated. Whether it be from external pressures of having someone discourage you in following a path you believe in or simply being overwhelmed with your daily life to pursue your own passions. Sometimes we ourselves choose to prioritize others’ perceptions of what we should be doing and forget to invest time in what we really want to accomplish for ourselves. That being said, let us remember that we can achieve anything we put effort into. There is no dream too big or to wild to bring to reality. If you need an example, think about the first person that desired to travel to the moon. Or think about the pandemic of Covid19 and the drastic changes it made in many sectors and the adaptions that had to be made to develop a virtual world. To those that told you to live in reality, tell them you will be the one to create a new reality. Keep yourself motivated.

Take today as your starting point towards your goal or dream. Set a pathway of how you aim to achieve the goal. Start setting timelines for little activities that add up to the goal. Tackle it in small portions and remember that any little bit of time invested behind the goal will be counted in the end product. ‘Drip drip fills the bucket’ is a saying that my supervisor has told me and one that I believe is true. It means that all the little efforts invested in the goal add up to accomplishing the bigger picture. You may not be able to invest hours daily; some days, you may not get time or energy at all to put in any effort. However, let your next action fester in your mind and drive you to accomplish the small timelines you set. Use your idle time to discover trends that revolve around your interest. Let it help you generate ideas to accomplish your personal goal.

Avoid people who insist you cannot make your dreams happen. Self-doubt kills more dreams than anything else. Keep motivated. Keep working towards the dream, and you will definitely accomplish it, eventually.
